New tensions on raw materials

The geopolitical context and tensions in the financial markets are driving up the cost of raw materials in general.
Not only oil and natural gas, but also Tungsten and Cobalt. Supply difficulties also for natural diamond for industrial uses.
We would like to share with you an update on the current raw materials market context and the resulting changes in price lists.
In recent months, the tooling sector has seen a gradual rise in tensions throughout the entire production chain. In particular:
- the tungsten carbide has reached particularly high price levels, also due to export restrictions and limited availability worldwide.
- the cobalt continues to be affected by geopolitical dynamics and unstable supply.
- also natural diamond for industrial applications, although in a complex market context, now shows more limited availability, linked to the reduction in global production and the growing difficulty in sourcing selected material.
In general, the picture that emerges is that of a supply chain under pressure, marked by greater volatility and less predictability than in the past.
In light of these dynamics, manufacturers are progressively adjusting their price lists.
We therefore wish to inform you that in the coming months, price lists may be updated even more frequently than in the past.
Furthermore, from May 1, 2026, the following will come into effect:
- the new ZCC-CT price list
- the new SCANDINAVIAN TOOLS SYSTEM price list
- As regards products under the CATE (Diamond tools, PCD,CBN) brand, given the variability of raw material costs, prices must be considered subject to update and to quotation request.
